Fresh turmeric is probably one of the trendiest ingredients you haven’t heard of, but you should know about. It’s often used in savory dishes, and it is a natural anti-inflammatory. Purported to have health benefits acting as treatment or prevention for all sorts of things because it contains curcumin, I suppose it falls under the “super food” category, but there isn’t solid scientific evidence yet for most of the benefits. Before the Godfather, I was that girl at the coffee shop who ordered the too-sweet latte with more milk and sugar than coffee because I had no idea how to drink coffee because I didn’t know how to make it! A salted caramel mocha latte would have been right up my alley, only much *much* lighter than what you see in the photos. But since one of the Godfather’s major food groups is coffee, I learned how to make it properly and enjoy it much more, even when I order the “girly” drinks.
