This summer I made a conscious decision to focus more on “face time” than other “face” things and it was the best decision ever. With the world at our fingertips, it’s so easy to get caught up in other things and forget that life is simple. The best moments are not made behind a screen, they’re made when we gather together and enjoy each other’s company. When we are truly present is when we live our best life, so enjoy those moments with people who fill your heart with joy! There are still warm evenings and sunshine filled afternoons for BBQs and casual get togethers, so let’s plan! Of course, we’ll keep things extra simple with easy snacks like this whipped honey goat cheese spread.

Step 1… invite your people. Whether it’s family, neighbors or friends, get everyone together! Text, call, social media, pigeons, you do what works. If you don’t feel like having people over for a meal, plan an evening around a fire pit or afternoon in the pool. Keeping gatherings around a “snack” time helps keep everyone focused on each other.

Step 2… Plan your munchies! One of my favorite easy entertaining go-to recipes is the “something on a cracker”. Cracker appetizers are easy to make, easy to serve, and easy to eat. You can’t ask for anything more. Breton crackers have always been a staple, but I really love their new ancient grains varieties. The Breton Artisanal Cranberry and Ancient Grains in particular is a favorite because of how well it pairs with this whipped honey goat cheese spread. Dust the crackers with a little cracked pepper and you have magic! Seriously amazing. The crackers have a perfect salty/sweet flavor, and with the creamy goat cheese spread, this appetizer will take you from summer events to holiday entertaining effortlessly. Be sure to serve extra on the side, with the variety of crackers available Breton crackers are even delicious plain!

Step 3… Enjoy your company! Whether you make the whipped honey goat cheese spread the day before or 15 minutes before everyone gets together, it’s sure to be a hit! One elegant snack + great company + one totally relaxed you = a perfect way to spend some quality face time with your favorites.
